The Criminal Investigation Department sent the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission a list identifying 116 websites alleged to be involved in online gambling, for identification and blocking, The Business Standard reported.
Additional DIG Mosleh Uddin Ahmed said CID’s Cyber Intelligence and Risk Management Unit conducted cyber monitoring and, during patrols from 1 May to 17 May, provided information on the 116 sites to BTRC.
CID separately said it had arrested members of a gang accused of collecting and moving funds abroad through international and domestic online gambling sites that used mobile banking, bank accounts and crypto wallets, with a case under cyber security law at Paltan Model Police Station.
